Tom Andrews

Tom Andrews has served as the director of music at the Cathedral of Holy Trinity in New Ulm, MN since July 2018. He studied organ performance with Dr. Joel Bacon as well as German at Colorado State University, earned a Masters in Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame  studying with Dr. Craig Cramer, and earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ and Church music from the University of Kansas, studying with Dr. Michael Bauer. His DMA research was on the organ works of Moritz Brosig (1815-1887), Domkapellmeister at the Breslau Cathedral.

Dr. Andrews started the Cathedral Concert Series back in summer 2019 as a way to showcase the Cathedral's new J. F Nordlie pipe organ that was installed in 2017. The Cathedral Concert Series hopes to resume again this July.

The new organ contains over 2,500 pipes, with 1,800 of them coming from the previous instrument built by New Ulm organ builders Vogelpohl and Spaeth. While not a tracker action, the organ's keys are weighted to give it a tracker feel.
