Tom Andrews

Tom Andrews has been the music director at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm since 2018. He has previously served as music director at St. Martha Parish in Okemos, MI and St. Barnabas Ordinariate Parish in Omaha, NE. Tom earned undergraduate degrees and Organ Performance and German from Colorado State University in 2009, studying with Dr. Joel Bacon, a Masters Degree in Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame in 2011, studying with Dr. Craig Cramer, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ and Church Music Degree from the University of Kansas in 2018, studying with Dr. Michael Bauer.

Dr. Andrews is currently completing a recording project of the complete chorale preludes of Mortiz Brosig (Domkapellmeister at the former Breslau Cathedral as well as a distant relative), the subject of his DMA research, and hopes to finish recording in June. During his tenure at the Cathedral he has started a monthly recital series featuring local and national organists, and Minnesota ensembles such as the Minnesota Valley Chorale and the LaGrande Bande. His hobbies include training for marathons and playing vintage video games. Tom is an at-large member of the Sioux Trails AGO.
