The North Star Boys’ Choir will present a concert of a cappella and accompanied choral music at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22 in Christ Chapel on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter.  The concert is free; a free will offering will be collected to assist with traveling costs.  First Lutheran Church in Saint Peter is sponsoring this event.  For more information visit www.flcstp.org or call 507.934.3060.

The North Star Boys’ Choir was founded in 2011 and has its roots in the European boy choir tradition.  The choir is devoted to the traditional boy choir repertoire including sacred music of all periods, dating back to the 5th century, classical works, spirituals, and folk music from around the world.  Based in the Twin Cities, the choir performs both regionally and internationally.  In 2012 the choir participated in the World Choir Games and received the bronze medal in the barbershop category and the silver medal in the children’s choir category.  In 2013 the choir traveled to Venice, Italy to sing in the renowned St. Mark’s Basilica.  Full details about the choir are available at www.northstarboyschoir.org

Homestay hosts for the boys in the choir are being sought.  Anyone interested in hosting a pair of singers, aged 10 – 16, for the evening of Sunday, June 22 should contact Chad Winterfeldt at cwinterfeldt@flcstp.org or 507.934.3060.  Host families are invited to attend a potluck meal with the choir before the concert, and then to house the pair of singers for the evening, provide a light breakfast, and return them to First Lutheran Church, 1114 W. Traverse Road, in Saint Peter, the next morning.
