Giving for Good: Preserving Music and Legacy at Good Counsel
Maintaining the historic 1877 Johnson & Sons pipe organ

Picture
Preserving and Maintaining the historic 1877 Johnson & Sons pipe organ at Good Counsel.   SWMHP announces inclusion of this regional treasure in the Mankato Area Foundation's Giving for Good Catalog.

As the Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership (SWMHP) works to thoughtfully pursue the adaptive reuse of the Good Counsel campus in Mankato, SWMHP remains deeply committed to honoring the site’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. A centerpiece of that legacy is the chapel’s 1877 Johnson pipe organ—a beautifully crafted instrument that has filled the space with music, reverence, and joy for decades- after the Sisters saved it from demolition in 1975.

You are invited to visit the Giving for Good website and to donate generously to the preservation and maintenance of this amazing resource in our community.
